“18 Rue de Tournon” is based on James Baldwin’s introduction to Black Fire!: Accounts of the Guerrilla War in Rhodesia (also titled We Are Everywhere: Narratives from Rhodesian Guerillas) by Michael Raeburn.

In post-war Paris, Café Tournon was a hub for African American expatriates, artists and writers. James Baldwin spent his time there.
II. Black Fire!
In France, Baldwin wrote the introduction to Michael Raeburn’s Black Fire!: Accounts of the Guerrilla War in Rhodesia (1978).
